Deborah “Debbie” Susan (Waldron) Davis

Deborah “Debbie” Susan (Waldron) Davis was born on September 7, 1949, to Robert and Esther (McCollum) Waldron in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on August 21, 2026, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Debbie attended St. Joseph Academy High School in West Des Moines. After high school, she began working for Northwestern Bell, where she built a long career and remained through the company’s transition to Qwest before retiring.

Debbie was a hard worker throughout her life and also helped run a Christmas tree farm in southern rural Iowa. She loved the outdoors, especially trout fishing, camping, and simply admiring flowers and trees. In her younger years, Debbie enjoyed traveling, including trips to Arkansas to trout fish and a memorable trip to Italy.

Above all, Debbie’s greatest love was her family, especially her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren will remember her as a fun and loving grandma who always had something special planned. Whether it was crafts, movie nights, shopping trips, sleepovers, or trips to the Iowa State Fair, she loved creating memories with them. Debbie also treasured the time she spent with her sisters.

Debbie will be lovingly remembered by her son, Tony (Theresa) Davis of Bussey; her grandchildren, Emma Roberts, Joshua (Gracie) Davis, Kristina (Trevor) Boles; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Arlow, and Elsie; and her sisters, Shelley Moyer, Mary (Dennis) Kinney, and Megan Waldron, all of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Waldron; her brothers, Mike and Bobby Waldron; her nephew, Justin Waldron; and her brother-in-law, Frank Moyer.

In accordance with Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House in Debbie’s memory, with gratitude for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided during her final days.
