David Laverne Jacobs, 69, died Monday, July 18, 2022, passed away peacefully at home. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Jester Park shelter #2 starting at 1 pm. David was born to Glen and Janet (McNeece) Jacobs on November 8th, 1952 in Unionville, Missouri. After moving to Des Moines, Iowa as a child with his family David married his ex-wife Patsy Nielsen in September of 1973. From this marriage, he had two beautiful daughters Jessica and Tabitha. David worked for many places in his life of which Dico and Rochester Armored Cars were his longest jobs, and Rochester was his last. As he worked at Rochester until October 2021 when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. And then diagnosed in July 2022 with very aggressive liver cancer that took his life just 13 days later. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. David was so proud of his family and everything any one of them accomplished. David loved to brag about his grandchildren and especially his great-grandchildren. David also loved to try and go watch his son-in-law Micheal fly his model planes. He was always showing someone a picture of any one of them at every chance he got. David had a heart of gold. He could never tell you no when someone asked for anything whether it was at work or in personal life. David always gave and never took from anyone. David leaves behind 2 sisters Janet (Robert) Craig and Tammy (Russ McKeehan) Jacobs a brother Ron (Chris) Jacobs. His daughters and their spouses Jessica (Michael) Hansen, Tabitha (Marc) Johnson. His grandkids Cameron (Kiara) Hansen, Tatyhana Murray (Anthony Hoover), Taurean Murray Jr (Piper Casey), Conner Hansen, Collin Hansen, and Marc Johnson Jr. His two great-grandchildren Leilani and Ja’Kai Hoover. David will be loved and missed by so many friends and family of whom he had touched so deeply.
