David C. Cowger, 62, is resting peacefully with his Savior since February 29, 2024, after an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marjorie Cowger; grandmother Henrietta Goff; twin sister, Elizabeth Inman, and brothers, Kenneth Morgan, Dean Morgan, Chris Morgan, and Andy Cowger.
David is survived by his wife, Donna Cowger; stepdaughters, Christy (Scott) Williams and Jean (Billy) Hook; grandsons, Nathan and Tristan Williams, and grand-dog-ter, Zoey.
David grew up in Chillicothe, IL, and moved to Des Moines, IA as a young adult. He worked as a self-employed painter and construction laborer. He took great pride in every job he ever did.
David was an upbeat person who never complained about his illness and was always looking ahead and concerned about others. He had a heart of gold and was a generous, kind, giving person who was the first in line when someone needed something. He also loved animals and was a friend to many strays over the years. His unconditional love, kind smile, and laughter will be greatly missed.
As David requested, his body was cremated, and there will be no funeral service.
