In loving memory of Chuck Gould aka “Uncle Chuck”, a remarkable man with a heart of gold, passed away on July 18, 2023.
Chuck was born on July 8, 1948 and was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines, class of 1966. Following high school, he selflessly served his country as a Vietnam veteran, serving with honor demonstrating unwavering bravery not only during his service, but throughout his life.
Those who knew Chuck will fondly remember his wicked sense of humor, his ability to bring laughter to any room, and his genuine kindness that touched the lives of many. He had a strong love for his family, friends and his kitties, cherishing each one of them dearly. His sisters, Kay Eichacker, Pat Omer, Cindy Heles-Hand, and Kim Gould were close to his heart, and his nieces and nephews, Dana Heles, Bob Heles, Jordan Hand, Garth Omer, and Nina Cam, were like his own children. His great nieces and nephews, including Mateo Munguia, America Munguia, Sophia Newman, Olivia Newman, Seth Heles, Madi Heles, Payton Heles, Parker Heles, Macy Heles, brought him immense joy and love. His two cats, Buddy and Cali, were his loyal companions and brought him comfort and happiness.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his home nurse Ethel, and the many angels at the VA and Methodist hospital who provided extraordinary care for Chuck, as well as his family and friends who supported him through difficult times. Chuck cherished all of you, and your kindness and care made a profound impact on the quality of his life.
As we bid farewell to Chuck Gould, let us remember him with love and celebrate his life. His memory will forever remain in our hearts. He was a good man. May he rest in eternal peace.
