Charles James Stewart

Charles led a simple life. He was joined in marriage to Vineta Lamb in 2002. He celebrated retirement from MTA Bus Lines as a mechanic in 2004. He served in the US army and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Charles and Mary Bell Stewart, and son James Charles Stewart, and three sisters Paulette, Lavon, and Geraldine.

He was survived by wife Vineta, children Connie (Kenny) Haskell, Kelly Pryor, Kimberly (John) Gillespie, Robert Sumpter, Jackie (Darcy) Stewart, Angel Stewart, and James Stewart; 20 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; a sister Kinda, and several nieces and nephews.

He was a blessing to all that came to know him and was known as the neighborhood grandpa. 

There will be services at the Iowa veteran’s cemetery at a later date.
