Chad Veach, 41, died September 21 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Chad is the son of Shirley and Kevin Gute.
Chad grew up in West Des Moines prior to moving to Bondurant in 1994. He attended Bondurant-Farrar schools. Chad went on to work a variety of jobs from construction to manufacturing to farming. Chad especially loved when he worked in carpentry.
In August 2009 Chad welcomed the greatest joy in his life, his daughter, Alexus. Chad was also a proud birth father to Emma (Destiny) who was born in 2015.
Chad was kind to everyone he met. He loved his family, especially his daughters, more than anything. Chad was charismatic and had a brilliant mind. His laugh was infectious and ornery. Early in his life Chad became a victim of substance abuse and continued to struggle throughout his life. Substance robbed Chad’s family of who he was and robbed Chad of a happy and productive life. His family hopes that by speaking truth about the epidemic of substance abuse we will honor Chad’s life and spread awareness to the problem facing our society.
Chad is survived by his daughter, Alexus; birth daughter, Emma (Destiny); parents, Kevin and Shirley Gute; sisters Melissa (Rick) Schad, Amy Kimball, Kelli Kraus and Charity (Ryan) Carstensen; brothers Scott, Frank and Lyle (Billie) Veach and Nathan (Michelle) and Brent (Megan) Gute; and grandfather, Olin Kimball. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Chad was preceded in death by his grandmother, Vera Kimball, his niece, Brianna Hilton, and nephew Simon Carstensen.
A private family service has been held. No funeral service is currently planned however a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Those who wish to express sympathy can send cards to the family at 7962 NE 107th Lane, Bondurant, Iowa 50035. Memorials will be donated in Chad’s memory to organizations helping others with substance abuse.
