Brian E. Howard of Prairie City, Iowa, formerly of North Platte, Nebraska passed away Sept, 16, 2021 in the hospital surrounded by his family, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born in Bath, New York on July 27,1943 to Lawrence F, Howard & Velma E. Howard Bradshaw. He lived with his Mother & Great Grandma Jane until he was 9 years old. He then moved with his Father & Stepmother to Calif. in 1955. In June of 1955 they moved to Pueblo, Colorado. Brian graduated from Pueblo South High School in 1961. He joined the Air Force in Jan. of 1962. Was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska from Oct. of 1962 until Jan. of 1966. While in Anchorage he met "The Love Of His Life" Joyce Druery from North Platte, Nebraska. They were married in North Platte, NE. on May 27th 1966. He was hired on with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co in March of 1966. They lived in North Platte,& Crawford Ne. until they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1970. He was hired on with Mountain Bell Telephone Co. & was with them until his retirement of 30 yrs, in June of 1996. To this union 3 children were born: Daughter, Sara Monsees & her children, Morgan, Dylan & Emma. Daughter Karenann (Kay)(Simon) Hernandez, & their children, Jaydon, Kyle, & Tyana. Son, John Howard, his children Ashly, Justin & Nicole. Also one Great Granddaughter, Makenna Grace. After he retired, Brian & Joyce enjoyed traveling & spending their winters in Quartzsite AZ for 22 years.
He was preceded in death by his father 1974, stepmother 1976, & his mother in 1999. Also his father-in-law in 1970, mother-in-law in 1998. Cremation was chosen & A Celebration Of Life Will Be Planned At A Later Date!!!!
