A LIFE remembered
Anne Marie (Williams) Ahrens was the only child born to George and Dorothy Williams. She graduated from Boone High School and married her high school sweetheart George L Ahrens. She believed in the importance of education, so she continued taking classes throughout her life. Her strength and love of family will forever be ingrained in her children and grandchildren. Albert Lennartz, her spouse, spent their off time on trail rides and working with their mules and puppies.
She was a fiercely determined woman who followed her passions. She loved the outdoors, horseback riding, trail rides, horses/mules, her puppies, the family farm and especially her grandchildren whom she was very proud of. She loved southwest art and music. She is a Lifetime Member of the Quarter Horse Assoc. and has a 50-year buckle from Eminence Cross Country Trail Ride. She taught her daughters to have “moxie” and stand up for themselves.
She was currently employed at Iowa State University.
Anne is survived by her husband Albert Lennartz (29 years), Julie (Curtis) Pike of Ames, Jeri (Marshall) Fuqua of Madrid, Jeni (Bob) Ross of Ogden and Jade Ahrens of Prairie City. Grandchildren, Cole Pike, Ramsey Ross, Dryden Ross and Jordyn Pike. She was an organ donor and will live on in others.
She has been preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Mae Johnson, father George Huxford Williams Jr., daughter Kendra Sage Andrea Ahrens.
Private services will be held at a later date.
