Amber Dawn Niland, 36, died on March 2, 2024, in Des Moines Iowa.
Amber’s passions included caring for her cat Houdini, who she called her baby boy, and connecting with her large, distributed, extended family. She loved with all her large heart and touched so many people.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Bradley (Brad) Niland, her grandparents, Bea Smith, Ed Swanson, and Richard Smith, and her stepfather, Jeff McClaran. She is survived by her mother, Celina McClaran, sister Krista McClaran, and brother Todd McClaran, grandparents John and Joan Niland, aunts and uncles Brent (Sandy) Niland, Julee Niland, Russ Swanson, Katy Swanson, Sue (Rick) Helderop, Dee Ann (Dave) Abel, Mark (Lisa) Swanson, Michael (Kelly) Martinson, many cousins, and her loved caretakers in her home in west Ames, IA.
Amber’s celebration of life service will be on Monday, March 11 at the Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, IA. Luncheon and visitation to follow.
