Adam Dwayne May

Adam Dwayne May, 47, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on June 2nd, 2026 after being involved in a motor vehicle accident while on his motorcycle.

Adam was born on December 12th, 1978, along with his twin brother, Rodney May, to Susie and Harold (McFarland) May. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rodney, and his grandparents, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who became his family.

Adam was a man of simple pleasures; he loved his friends and family, motorcycles (and riding them), and raising hell. He loved cowboys and all things outlaw, but most would probably agree that he was the baddest outlaw of all. He lived and loved as big as anyone possibly could.

Adam is survived by his brother, Donald (Donny) Young, sisters Dawn Young Fortune and Shawn Agan, his children, Alexandria (Jonathan) May, Mathew May, Parker Wilson, Amelia May, and Lillian May, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and all the friends, family, and community members whose lives he will never truly leave.

Adam's passing is a deep loss, for his family, for all the friends he loved like family, for all of those whose lives he touched in some way, and for the community at large. Although he is gone, his legacy will doubtlessly live on.
