Aaron Paul Verwers, 50, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2022.
Aaron is left to be remembered by his parents, Linda Schnackel (Rick Schnackel) and William Verwers, daughter Kailee Lisk, siblings, Andrew Verwers, and Kelli Verwers. Step kids Ariel Floyd (Cody Floyd) and Caleb Verwers. Along with uncles, aunts, cousins, and many close friends who were like family to him.
Aaron was born April 19, 1972, in Des Moines and lived here his entire life. He had a kind soul with a hindered spirit, but he never hesitated to help another. Although sometimes faulted he was a man who stood up for what he believed in and stood his ground. He was real and everyone who knew him would agree. He lived many different lives, some high and some low but he learned from them. He saw people for who they truly were. He made you feel important by pointing out the realness in you and seeing the small insignificant things that he made somehow, significant.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Aaron. He enjoyed cooking, Italian specifically. Making his own sauces and making everyone try a taste. He loved trying new Mexican restaurants. He enjoyed listening to music from country to old school rap and singing karaoke. He also loved action movies and testing the moves he learned out on his family, mixed martial arts was his specialty. Aaron was also a wonderer most of his life. He had a deep spiritual connection to nature and felt most like himself when he was in it. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, walking upon the dirt and sleeping under the stars.
A gathering is yet to be determined but will take place in the following weeks. Rest in peace dad, you will not be forgotten.
